BABY CRADLE
Every newborn child is unique. Every baby crib is one of a kind. Baby crib made of healing clay.
May we be one with the earth! And the earth with us!
The Baby Crib
When we lie in a blooming meadow in the summer and enjoy the comfort and beauty of this earth, we experience intensely and firsthand that the earth is supporting us from below. For the newborn, the baby bed (earth bed) represents the feeling of being supported by the earth.
The baby bed is shaped and built from natural, unadulterated earth. Building with earth means building with the clay found in the earth. Clay has been used by humans for thousands of years as healing earth for both internal and external applications.
Due to its absorptive properties, the clay in the loam can absorb and neutralize gases, irritants, odors, allergens, toxins, pathogens, pollutants, and artificial radiation. In one study, the loam was found to absorb up to 99.7% of high-frequency radiation. Clay possesses antiseptic and antibiotic properties.
The earthen bed provides a healthy, pollutant-free, and life-sustaining environment. In it, the child can ground themselves, grow, and thrive.
This is particularly important during the first five months after birth, as this is the period when a child fundamentally develops and strengthens their immune system as well as their emotional and mental capacities.
The Sound of Life
The history of an “earth crib” is closely linked to the origins of humankind. When we speak of an earth bed, the emphasis is on earth. Building an earth bed means building with the clay minerals found in loam.
Earthen clay holds a special place among all other earthen building materials. The clay in the muddy sediment at the edges of the primordial oceans is believed to have been the origin of life over 4 billion years ago.
The clay minerals served as catalysts for the formation of strictly ordered biochemical structures. A NASA research team hypothesizes that these structures, with their crystalline fields, served as the template for DNA (see Keppler 1986, p. 72).
It was like a primordial soup back then, in which the principle of “self-replication” from crystals could transfer to carbon-based matter and breathe life into it. These highly complex patterns of crystalline fields resemble a blueprint for our DNA, which stores biological blueprints.
The clay crystals live in rhythm with the tides, day and night. In step with the impulses of the sun, moon, and Earth, ion exchange is constantly stimulated.
Billions of tiny niches are constantly forming and disappearing. These unique life impulses exist only in natural clay that has not been heated above 52 degrees.
The earth beds containing clay minerals “breathe” in and out, so to speak, in a figurative sense. The baby is surrounded by “living” earth. In an earth bed, the clay minerals in the loam breathe into the newborn all the possibilities of life on earth.
The Workshop
The earth beds are crafted in our “Earth Workshop.” They are made from clay minerals, loam, water, and the finest softwood shavings.
Using their hands, artisans shape this mixture into an egg-shaped, harmonious, curved baby bed. It takes several days to “shape” the baby bed. The surface is rubbed and compacted using flat stones until there are no more cracks.
The color comes from the natural hue of the clay, while the overall appearance is shaped by the craftsmanship of the artisan’s hands.
Once the baby crib has been shaped from the clay without any cracks, it takes several more days for it to dry very slowly.
The hands that shape the clay always create one-of-a-kind pieces. Every crib is unique. No two cribs are identical. Even the color of the clay can vary slightly from piece to piece. We craft individual cribs for people.
With the utmost care we can muster, these baby cribs are crafted from earth. The shape, the method of creation and treatment, the earthen building materials, the workmanship, and even the production of the shipping crate are all subject to the natural laws of nature and the earth-based healing principles of this planet.
Birth into the World
“Being born” and “having been born” are profound processes involving many changes for everyone involved. The newborn is the visible “new” element in the entire process of a human child’s birth.
The place of birth is the Earth. The human child is a child of the Earth. Human children are children of the Earth. Over the course of nine months, the biological human mother and the biological human father—just like the “child coming to Earth”—have undergone a transformation in various ways and to varying degrees. Something new begins; the whole world is transformed by a new human life.
Conceived by the biological father, carried in and through the biological mother, it is embraced by the Earth! In ancient cultures, the medicine woman, the druid, or the shaman received the newborn. To symbolically connect it to the overarching aspect of the mother, it was immediately placed on the bare earth.
This contact between the earth and the child was the sign of the acceptance of a new child of the earth. Then the child was held up toward the sun to honor the fatherly aspect, then held up again to give thanks to the feminine aspect of the moon, and once more to pay homage to “all else.”
Only then was the child placed on the mother’s belly, and the father was called to join them in placing their hands on her heart and the child’s heart. Father, mother, and child are like a triad. When this chord sounds, the Earth sings her song! Thus, the human child was received into the hands and hearts of its biological parents and onto the skin and into the heart of the Earth.
An earthen bed of unadulterated earth receives and touches the newborn within itself and “sings the song of the earth.”
The Human Living Environment
The living space provided to us humans by the Earth does not exceed a temperature of 52 degrees on the Earth’s surface within the realm of human life. This is essential!
Everything on this Earth has an essence. Every single thing, every particle, everything in the universe has a soul. When we heat earthly substances above 52 degrees, we alter them not only on a molecular, material level, but also in their “non-physical being.”
For example, boiled seed potatoes will no longer grow in the ground because the heat has destroyed their ability to germinate. Breast milk at a temperature of approximately 36 degrees is the healthiest food for children on Earth. Cow’s milk heated to extremely high temperatures can never replace breast milk.
Modern science has recognized that natural food that has not been heated above 52 degrees contains far more cell-available light particles (biophotons) than, for example, cooked food. A green leaf contains an unimaginable amount of cell-available light (biophotons). Cooked food contains almost none of this. Natural clay in the form of these baby cribs is natural, light-infused nourishment for the Earth child.
The Background
For example, when we touch a cold concrete wall made of fired cement, it “draws” a certain form of light and energy from us—something that does not happen with natural earthen building materials (naturally dried wood, clay, etc.).
In the space of the earth bed, the baby can better develop its own “light” within itself, since it can remain largely undisturbed during its waking and sleeping phases. The baby bed represents the planet of its birth.
An awareness of the “light of life” creates a “space” in which the child of the earth can develop freely and without stress.
The artistic design of the Earth Bed for newborns is symbolically modeled after the egg shape. The egg shape is one of the fundamental energetic structures in nature.
Here, form and life—or matter and spirit—are connected in a universal way. Every being that shapes life finds its origin in a primal form. The egg thus represents such a fundamental primal form. For the child, the Earth Cradle serves as a bridge into life on Earth and into human existence.
Natural earth, used in this form, symbolizes the softness and naturalness of our Earth. It opens the child’s perception to its fullest, guiding the child into life on Earth and helping to develop the child’s personal potential. After about five months, the phase of the child’s arrival on this Earth comes to an end. During this time, the physical, emotional, and spiritual faculties of the child on Earth align with their individual “being” on this Earth. The earth bed plays its part in this process.
The Friendship of Trees
If you wish, dig a suitable planting hole, return the Earth Bed to the soil after five months, and plant a tree on top of it. There is a friendship between trees and humans that dates back thousands of years.
May this symbol contribute to the child’s growth and to a mindful relationship with the Earth. “The collective of the Earth must always be at the center of every decision and every action!”
May we be one with the Earth!
And may the Earth be with us!
The Poem
A planet, of becoming and passing away,
a place where miracles can happen,
which every birth carries within itself,
with which the light of the Earth intertwines.
Whether the old has a future,
the new holds within itself the power
to let go of the past
or to carry it forward with the heart.
The sound of the earth
sings with the human child, the “becoming,”
like an eternal symphony,
Where do I come from? Who am I?
what am I doing, and how?
What is the purpose of my days on Earth?
The Earth knows the answer to this question.
You are of this Earth; your soul,
your spirit finds honor within it,
for “Earth” comes from “honor,”
so become that way!
Instructions for Use
The molded and dried baby bed made from natural clay materials is not waterproof! This is the only way the immense potential of the clay minerals in the baby bed can be fully realized.
The surface of the clay crib breathes like a newborn’s skin. Please make sure to keep the crib dry at all times. If it does get wet, dry it in a warm place or in direct sunlight. If the baby bed gets dirty, please use a damp cloth and gently rub the dirt out of the baby bed with clean, warm water. Then simply let the area dry at room temperature.
The crib is very sturdy, but you should not drop it on the floor or subject it to excessive force. Please carry the crib by holding the outer sides with both flat hands (see picture). Do not carry the child from one place to another while they are in the crib. Please choose a suitable and attractive spot in the nursery or in your bedroom for the crib. You can use a small, sturdy wooden table or the included packaging box for this purpose. The chosen spot is where the child can rest, sleep, and find their place in the world.
The natural mattress included is made from high-quality natural materials. One side of the mattress consists of 2.5 cm of ecologically certified natural latex, while the other side consists of 2.5 cm of ecologically certified coconut fibers; both sides are covered with a removable, organic satin cover that is washable at 60 degrees. You can flip the mattress daily so that your child sleeps on a slightly softer surface one day and a slightly firmer surface the next.
Newborns should only sleep in this crib for the first five months. After this time, you can switch to standard children’s beds or choose one of our “Earth Beds.” The wooden box is treated with cold-pressed oils. The filling consists of a non-toxic softwood fiberboard and biodegradable packing chips. The Earth Bed is wrapped in a linen fabric made from certified organic cotton.
Dimensions of the Earth Bed: Length approx. 90 cm, width approx. 58 cm, height approx. 30 cm, weight: approx. 13 kg Packaging dimensions: Length: 98 cm, width: 68 cm, height: 35 cm, total weight approx. 31 kg
Quote: “An unhealthy bed is the surest way to ruin one’s health. Restorative sleep depends on a toxin-free mattress and an environment that regulates temperature and humidity.” (Paracelsus) This is absolutely correct. The baby crib for newborns fulfills this and much more.
Once you’ve decided on a crib
At our workshop, preparations and production don’t begin until you’ve chosen a crib. We don’t produce “for stock” and don’t standardize our products or processes.
Only in this way can the possibilities of life find their way into the individual baby crib.
Only after a decision is made will everything fall into place for the child of the earth, for resonance is a foundation of life on earth. From the very beginning, every action will be connected to the child who will find their place in a crib.
We will select the right materials from our raw materials, work on them at the right time and with the right attitude, and after twenty days provide the child with a one-of-a-kind earth bed.
The diversity of life, the immense possibilities of natural earthen building materials, and their uniqueness can find expression in “your baby crib” and touch both you and your child. After approximately 20 days, we will ship the custom-made baby crib to you.
A gift from the earth is abundance;
it calls for emptiness, where no word disturbs the silence;
a gift given honors life—
unconditional giving gives birth to life.
